Still Expecting

When to Start Solids
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) your baby will be ready to begin eating solids at about four to six months. Always talk to your health-care professional before you start. Also remember that every baby is unique, but here are some general cues that your baby might be ready:

  • She can sit with your support
  • She can hold her neck steady and control her head movements
  • She can take food from a spoon and learn to swallow
