Blend Mealtime and Playtime
Mealtime is no longer just a time for eating, it’s also a chance for social interaction. Relax and enjoy your baby's food exploration. Introducing new foods is always a process of trial and error.

By the end of the first year, liquids (milk, breast milk, infant formula) will still make up the majority of your baby’s nutrition, but solid foods will be a significant part too. It has been said that between six and 11 months, solid foods provide nearly 40 percent of a baby’s nutrition.

Your baby is probably trying to feed himself with a spoon now, often without much success. By the end of this stage, though, he may actually get the spoon in his mouth at times. You can help him learn by letting him hold on to the spoon as you feed him.

Now is the time to start introducing foods with new textures such as oatmeal, noodles and peas. He'll also like chewing on hard but dissolvable foods since he's teething. Just make sure it's something that dissolves easily, like teething biscuits.
