Sometimes Less is More
When feeding table food, be sure it is soft and cut in to small pieces less than half an inch. Beech-Nut® Stage 4® products are cut to just the right size.

Be sure to watch sodium levels in foods you buy for your child. Our Let’s Grow products have less sodium and are less spicy than many other canned or microwavable meals.

Foods that contain the most powerful allergens for infants and young children, and are best to avoid for now, include tree nuts, peanuts, and shellfish.

Remember, choking is a hazard. Cut grapes and hot dogs lengthwise. Cook carrots until they’re soft, and avoid nuts altogether. Any of these food items can slip back in your child’s throat and plug her windpipe.

Don’t Give Up
Some children may not accept a new food until they have been served it 10, 15 or even 20 times. Don’t worry if she isn’t interested at first. Keep offering unfamiliar foods along with your child’s favorites. Sooner or later she will work the food into her routine.
