Clean Label Project® Certified Baby Food
Beech-Nut is proud to announce a partnership with The Clean Label Project, which has granted these awards for our top-selling items.

The Clean Label Project’s Pesticide Free Award is a certification given to products that meet stringent criteria for testing low in pesticide residues.

The Clean Label Project’s Purity Award is a certification given to products that meet strict standards for purity and safety compared to other baby food items.
For over 30 years, Beech-Nut has been testing naturally occurring heavy metal levels in samples of our puree ingredients. We decided to partner with the Clean Label Project to provide parents & caregivers an independent, third-party layer of protection on our top-selling products. The Clean Label Project uses an independent sampling process to gather & send products to their ISO-accredited, chemical partner laboratories, where they are tested for environmental contaminants over several weeks.
🔬Did you know that Beech-Nut’s own internal, chemical testing lab is ISO-accredited, too? (ISO 17025 accredited laboratories ensure test result accuracy, consistency, team member training and best practices and are internationally recognized to perform quality & safety testing on food.) Our ingredient-screening process rejects raw ingredients that do not meet our internal quality policies.
🤓 In many respects, our own testing frequency & formats *exceed* the Clean Label Project’s Purity Award requirements:
- 📅Frequency: We test up to 12 samples per finished product per every production lot, while CLP requires only one sample tested per finished item, one time per year.
- 🥕Formats: We test samples of raw ingredients that go into their purees, in addition to testing finished product formats. CLP does not have an ingredient testing requirement.
