Helping Hands: Beech-Nut’s Giving in 2022

in 2022, Beech-Nut focused on food insecurity.

Here are just some of the ways we gave back to local, regional, national & international communities in 2022 through our Helping Hands initiatives, co-led by Amanda Ettinger, Consumer Engagement Manager.

“We work hard to deliver high-quality products to families around the country. We prioritize making Beech-Nut available to young children who need it the most. It is not only the right thing to do, but it also brings our company together as a team.”

– Amanda Ettinger, Consumer Engagement Manager & Co-Chair of Helping Hands

Beech-Nut had donated 7,250,000 meals since 2018:

no kid hungry

While supporting No Kid Hungry since 2018, Beech-Nut worked on several campaigns to bring more awareness to the issue of childhood hunger and to help families. From 2018 – 2022, Beech-Nut has helped No Kid Hungry’s community partners serve over 7.25 Million meals.

Our local community efforts:

We distributed over $57,200 worth of nutritious food to over 1,000 families with the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York at our 6th Annual Beech-Nut Gives Back event.

We donated over 17,000 pouches and jars of baby food to the United Way of the Greater Capital Region for their annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign to help feed hungry families around Albany, N.Y.

We also donated 1,000 jars and 300 infant cereal canisters to The Neighborhood Center, a childcare center in Utica, N.Y., to help offset parents’ financial burdens.

Beech-Nut helping families in crisis:

food insecurity donations worldwide

World of Giving helped to deliver 8,328 pouches and 4,470 infant cereal canisters to displaced families in Ukraine.

The Red Cross of Eastern New York brought 36,000 of our Oaty Bars & Crispeas Toddler Snacks to families stranded by Hurricane Ian in Florida.

“Every day I am proud to work for a company that makes the world a better place, making the best food for babies. My favorite moment is when we give back to the community at our annual food drive. Any opportunity that I have to give back, I am always there.”

– Kelvyn Vasquez, Operations Specialist

In September 2022, we hosted a “Beech-Nut Employee/Family Art Show & Auction” to benefit Creative Connections Clubhouse, a center for youth & young adults.

Each year, Beech-Nut sponsors the City of Amsterdam Youth Summer Camp, coordinates on-site bake sales operated by and benefitting Haven of Hope, and purchases gifts and necessities for families during the holidays.

In 2023, Our Helping Hands Team will have their hands (and hearts) full.
