Feeding your 8-month old as they transition into heartier foods and infant snacks can be a challenge. That’s why Beech-Nut® offers a selection of foods specifically catered to your little one as they begin eating thicker purees and bite-sized snacks! Your pediatrician can recommend if your baby is ready for infant snacks, such as Beech-Nut® melties, or Stage 3 foods.

What should I be feeding my 8-month old?

At 8 months old, your baby is likely entering Stage 3 of their feeding journey, where they may be ready to enjoy thick purees with multiple flavors and easy-to-eat snacks, such as melties.

What feeding stage is my 8-month old in?

At 8-months old, we recommend feeding your baby any of our Stage 3 foods. This stage is designed to meet the needs of babies around 8-months and older, and consists of multiple ingredient thicker purees as well as some soft snacks and cereals.

How should I feed my baby infant snacks?

First, consult with your pediatrician on your baby’s readiness to consume toddler snacks.
Our melties are a great snack for your 8-month old. These bite-sized, delicious snacks can be fed one at a time to a seated, supervised baby. Melties are also great for “self-feeding,” where your little one can develop their fine motor skills.

Can I feed my 8-month old purees with yogurt in them?

Yes! Our jarred purees with yogurt are designed for babies in Stage 3 (babies around 8 months or older), so they are safe to feed your 8-month old. In fact, the USDA recommends that infants as young as 6 months of age consume yogurt (not cow’s milk) as a good way to expose this potential food allergen. Read more about exposing food allergens here, and consult your pediatrician if you have any questions about dairy.
